It's worth the money and the second serving of popcorn! The music is quite good. I don't mind seeing the movie again in the cinema. The replay value of this movie is quite high. Anumpan Kher's acting was quite comical but quite better compared with his role in Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum. To be honest, Taapsee Pannu's acting wasn't very grand, and Rishi Kapoor's acting was finesse, as always. He does his role extremely well but it doesn't balance with Divyendu and Siddharth's acting due to their slapstick characters. Normally you would think that Ali Zafar would be the best, but in this film he had to play an innocent guy. Performance wise, I felt that Divyendu Sharma and Siddharth were the best out of the three of them.
I quite liked it, yet I felt it needed a bit of more excitement to it. The reason why I give this movie a 9 and not a 10 is due to the times I felt that the romance between two of the older characters isn't needed. Don't expect the world from this movie, but just expect a weak storyline and hell load of laughter. The story starts to fade halfway but you really don't seem to care because as long as the laughs keep coming, you are happy. Now don't get me wrong, there are much more sensible movies out there which have released in the 2013 cinema but David Dhawan has managed to make this movie shine. and pretty much ONE of the best movies of the year. Now, I haven't seen the original Chashme Buddoor but I think its safe to say that when I exited the cinema, I had laughed way too much and I was upset as hell to acknowledge that the movie had ended.
And the rest of the movie shows what Omi and Jai try to do. They are surprised when Jai, the studious guy, manages to get her. A new girl moves in named, Seema (Tapsee Pannu) and Omi and Jai, being the usual, try to woo her but fail. Three of them are broke, living in a guesthouse, finding some way to not pay rent. The film revolves around three guys, Omi(Divyendu Sharma), Jai(Siddharth) and Sid(Ali Zafar). This film is a remake of the 1981, CHASHME BUDDOOR, with the same storyline. KUNAL KUMARĬHASHME BADDOOR is a comedy/romantic movie directed by David Dhawan, starring Ali Zafar, Siddharth and Divyendu Sharma. The later part of the story revolves how they clear the confusion that she has been in fact kidnapped by real thugs and how she is rescued. But unfortunately she is kidnapped by the real gang and the duo is left in a lurch. One fine day Omi and his friends along with Neha's grandmother plan to stage a fake kidnapping and get married. A spate of kidnapping (especially of young girls) has started in Delhi. But as students don't clear his debts, Lallan Miyan tries to follow-up with them to get their dues. Lallan Miyan is the local shopkeeper who sells Cigarettes to Omi and Jai on credit. The parallel plot runs between Omi, Jai, Siddharth and Lallan Miyan. Initially they succeed in separating Siddharth and Neha but later on repent when they find that Siddharth lost his interest in work and study and also likely to end his life. But when his two friends find out, they decide to put an end to their relationship as a revenge to the embarrassment inflicted upon them by the girl.
Siddharth sees Neha for the first time and a love story begins. After some days, Neha shows up as Chamko washing powder salesgirl to their flat, upon seeing whom Jai and Omi hide quickly. One day Omi and Jai see a girl who is new to their neighborhood and try to impress her by their tricks they give up when both of them experience shameful events. Siddharth is very studious and spends most of his time with books whereas Omi and Jai are busy in chasing girls, watching movies or dramas only common thing among them is smoking. Siddharth has completed M.A in Economics and is preparing for PhD. Siddharth, Omi and Jai are close friends and room mates who are studying at Delhi University.
